Independence day at Sneha Jyothi Vidyalaya
School, Pothnal.
Freedom in the
mind,
Faith in the words...
Pride in our soul...
Let’s salute the Nation on this auspicious
day.
It was a red letter day in the history of
India when the country got her freedom on
August 15th,1947 and it took hundreds of
years for us to break the shackles of
slavery .Such day was celebrated with great
enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 15th
,August,2022 in the school ground with the
staff, students and parents to mark the 75th
year of freedom from the British rule . The
school was decorated with tricolour
flags, ballons and tricolour flowers that
attracted and welcomed all to the
celebration.
On this special day the ceremony started at
9:00 AM in the school open ground and the
dignitaries were welcomed by the Band to the
School.
To commemorate the sovereignty of our
Nation, the president Rev. Fr. William
Prabhu OFM Cap, Basavaraj Kesari PTA
president and Rev. Fr. Sunil Cornelio OFM
Cap, the Principal, unfurled the tricolour
flag and all in unison sang the National
Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom.
Students of Four houses made a magestic
march to pay homage and respect to the
country and the dignitaries. Children from
nursery to 10th awakened everyone's feelings
towards the motherland through the musical
rendition and various cultural programs.
Apranjeetha a student of Std.10th took us
down the memory lane as she spoke on the
freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru,
Subhash Chandra Bose etc who played an
important and vital role in Indian
independence.
This was followed by the prize distribution
to acknowledge those students who bought
laurels for themselves and the school in
both scholastic and non-scholastic areas.
President of the programme Rev, Fr. William
Prabhu OFM Cap, enlightened everyone on the
importance of being united. Both the
speakers exhorted the students to follow the
ideals of the great people.
The program culminated with a Vote of
Thanks. In the end, sweets were distributed
to the students. Indeed, it was a day of
joy, a day to love and respect our country
and make it a better place for Indians to
live and experience freedom, peace and Unity
in Diversity.
In the words of Mahatma Gandhi"The future
depends on what we do in the present".So
let's pledge to make ourselves fair-minded,fearless
and faithful.Jaihind!
