hundreds of years for us to break the
shackles of slavery .Such day was
celebrated with great enthusiasm and
patriotic fervour on 15th ,August,2022
in the school ground with the
staff, students and parents to mark the
75th year of freedom from the British
rule . The school was decorated with
tricolour flags,ballons and tricolour
flowers that attracted and welcomed all
to the celebration. On this special day
the ceremony started at 9:00 AM in the
school open ground and the dignitaries
were welcomed by the Band to the School.
To commemorate the sovereignty of our
Nation, the president Rev. Fr. William

TALENT FEST AT
SNEHA JYOTHI VIDYALYA, POTHNAL
“Hide
not your talents, they for use were
made, What's a sundial in the shade?”
Says Benjamin Franklin
Every artist was first an amateur.
Talent is something that makes you excel
in a task more than someone else. If you
are naturally good at something, you
have got the talent for it. Talent Hunt
is one such event, which gives a
platform to students to represent their
talents in any field. Keeping this in
mind, Fr. Sunil Cornelio, Headmaster of
SJV School organized on 23rd July 2022 a
virtual ‘Show your talent ‘session for
all the students. Students participated
enthusiastically and exhibited their
talent in various activities. Some sang
songs, some showcased their foot-tapping
moves, while others narrated stories or
recited rhymes. The students staged
spectacular performances in colorful
attires using fascinating props and
backdrops making all parents and their
teachers spellbound. These events not
only nurture the intrinsic qualities of
students but also remove stage fear in
them, which helps in their personality
development. Special efforts were made
to enhance the talent of those students
who have a natural flair for music,
dance, drama, art, craft, etc to bring
out their hidden talent.

Yoga day
celebration at Sneha Jyothi
Vidyalaya,Pothnal
The
Yoga day was held very significantly at
Sneha Jyothi Vidyalaya School, Pothnal
on June 21. The session was held on our
school grounds. Students from classes
Nursery to 10th took part in the
celebration. The inaugural speech was
given by the Headmaster Fr. Sunil
Cornelio who emphasized the importance
of Yoga and physical exercises in daily
life. A group of students who were yoga
students performed several asanas. They
also performed standing and sitting
asanas. One could understand by watching
their performance that they have been
practicing yoga for the last few years.
Some of the seniors even did some of the
tough asanas. Our yoga teacher showed us
some simple and beginner asanas which we
did for about 60 minutes. The session
was organized. There were teachers all
around us to help us in case we had
trouble performing or understanding
asanas. All the students participated
eagerly.
